Sheikh Fazle Fahim is an entrepreneur and community leader with extensive experience in business development and social impacts in economy, education, arts, health, sports, innovation and entrepreneurship. Fahim is a board member of multiple domestic and international institutions. He received prestigious domestic and international awards including Commercial Important Person, Government of Bangladesh, Certificate of Merit from World Customs organization and International Construction Business Award from the Global Trade Leaders’ Club to name few. 

He is the President of D-8 Chamber of Commerce and Industries (D-8 CCI). National focal point Bangladesh Indian Ocean Rim Business Forum (IORBF). In addition, he is Vice President of Confederation of Asia Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CACCI), Vice President of South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) representing eight South Asian countries. Chair (2021-2023), Indian Ocean Rim Business Forum, trade and investment body of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORBF).

Fahim’s contributions towards regional, bilateral and multilateral initiatives is evident through his leadership at private-public platforms of the WTO, D-8, ASEAN, SAARC, BIMSTEC, BBIN, SRCIC, OIC, APTA and at the Commonwealth. Fahim served as President (2019-2021), Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI), national umbrella trade and investment organization. Global Advisor (2019-2020), Commonwealth Enterprise Investment Council (CWEIC), trade and investment wing of Commonwealth. Executive Committee Member (2018-2020), Silk Route International Chambers of Commerce (SRCIC). Fahim’s expertise in providing breakthrough leadership with a view to achieving corporate social strategies, building coalition to support sustainable development enabling technology, innovation and drive agile organizational performance is highlighted through his civic standing in the community.

Fahim is currently the Managing Director of Obsidian Bangladesh Ltd, a conglomerate with business interest in technology, education, healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, EPC and trading. He is the Chairman of RHS Group Ltd, a conglomerate engaged in energy, new media, construction, FMCG etc. He earlier worked as the Financial Adviser at the Edward Jones Investments, a global financial organization. With an academic background in Masters of Liberal Arts in Political Economy from the St. Edwards University in Austin Texas, United States; as part of the master’s program, he also attended Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States.
